Select an NFP entity and the related IRS form 990 (must have an IRS Form 990).
The https://candid.org/ website will be helpful to locate the most recently available form 990. Present the Not for Profit organization name and link to the
most recent IRS form 990 in the appropriate discussion for approval.
Write a three to four-page report on the NFP. Relate topics from our course to your entity. Our discussion postings should assist you in completing your
deliverables. The Form 990 is the resource for your NFP. You can also use the NFP Annual Report and Web Site.
Prepare a PowerPoint presentation based on your report to post in our discussion in week 6 for discussion and comments. Submit only the reports in the
assignment folders. Post your draft PowerPoint presentations in the week 6 discussion. Note the separate due dates for each item: the NFP report, and the
PowerPoint presentation. This is a total of 2 documents for the NFP. Your municipality may be at the local or state level. After the discussion, you should
submit your NFP Report and PowerPoint presentation for grading in the separate assignment folder: NFP Report and NFP Presentation. It is helpful to use
the Snip-It Tool to include information from the actual CAFR or NFP material but these do not count as ‘space’ or slides. Items you create, including small
charts, count as space and slides.
The reports should be single-spaced with double spacing between paragraphs. Use one-inch margins. The font should be 12 points. Use headings related to
topics in our class.
Page count does not include copy and paste text or displays (such as a balance sheet).
