When developing total rewards, managers should consider organizational climate and compensation philosophies, communication approaches, and compensation responsibilities. Chapter 11 outlines two philosophies; entitlement and performance (see Figure 11-5 which is attached). To motivate employees toward organizational goals, leaders need to establish a guiding philosophy regarding total rewards system and communication of it.
